In a groundbreaking event that marks a significant milestone in the realm of English Language Education Study Program, Ahmad Dahlan University (UAD) proudly hosted a Public Lecture that has set the academic community abuzz. Held on a crisp Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at the prestigious Educators Hall within Campus 4, this event was not just a routine academic gathering but a beacon of innovation and transformation in English education.

Titled “The Next English Educators: Innovation and Transformation,” the lecture saw the convergence of minds eager to redefine the contours of English teaching. The highlight was the presence of the illustrious Dr. Itje Chodijah, M.A., who graced the event as the keynote speaker. As the Chair of the Indonesian National Commission for UNESCO, Dr. Itje brought to the table a wealth of knowledge and an unrivaled passion for revolutionizing education.

In a speech delivered by the Head of English Language Education Study Program, Sucipto, M.Pd.BI., Ph.D., he stated the importance of the role of an educator who can inspire his students.

“Mrs. Itje Chodidjah is an expert in teaching English for young learners. She was very inspiring not only in teaching English, but also for better education for this nation and the world,” he said.

Mrs. Itje explained that the most important thing after graduating is self-competence.

“When looking for a job later, those grades are not as important anymore. People see us from the competence we have, the skills we have. So we need to prepare more than just knowledge. Prepare yourself from today, be someone who is good at using your time. In essence, everyone has 24 hours, but some of them have many achievements, some are mediocre, that’s because they use their time.” she said.
